ResolveAI stores each pushed group, but the group does not affect a team roster until you link it. You create that link in ResolveAI; your identity provider does not create it.
Groups are linkable as soon as they are pushed. You do not need to turn sign-in enforcement on first.
Link a group
- Open the team and go to its Members tab.
- Find Linked groups.
- Use Search and choose a group to pick a synced group.
- Choose whether its people join as Member or Admin.
- Click Bind group.
ResolveAI populates the team immediately. It does not wait for the next push. Later membership and name changes from your provider keep the team current.
The organization-wide team already contains every user and cannot be linked to a group.
Unlinking
Removing a binding takes its people off the team, unless another linked group still confers them. A person conferred by two groups keeps their place when one is removed.
Team membership is not org access
Team membership and organization access are separate:
- Team membership comes from a linked group, and can place someone on a team who has never signed in.
- Organization access is governed by sign-in, and by sign-in enforcement if you turn it on.
A person can appear on a team roster before signing in.
When a linked team does not update
The group named people ResolveAI does not have. ResolveAI stores the group push but refuses to reconcile the linked team if it cannot resolve every member. The team stays unchanged; it is not emptied. ResolveAI flags Sync needs attention with the reason. Push the users first, then re-push the group.
A failed member lookup and a genuinely empty group look identical on the wire. ResolveAI keeps the current team roster to avoid treating a lookup failure as an intentional removal.
A large change looks half applied. Providers send one request per member, so a fifty-person change arrives as fifty requests. ResolveAI combines them into one team update a few seconds after the last request.
The group was just created. Creating a group does not trigger a roster update because you cannot link the group until after creation. Later membership changes do trigger an update.
